AdSense™ ExampleAn AdSense enabled site is simply a web site that displays AdSense ads. Simply put, AdSense ads are displayed on your site when a visitor lands on one of your pages by clicking on search engine listing results pages, links from other sites to your site, links from directories, or by some other means. Each page on your site can be setup to display targeted ads, with each Ad customized using a range of dimensions and color. The example below shows two different Google Adsense Ads (yellow highlight). One Ad was generated with a dimension of 140x90 and the other 468x60 (therefore, I had to insert two different adsense code blocks into my pages).
The purpose for using AdSense should always be to get highly targeted Ads to display on your pages. The more targeted the ad is to your visitor's purpose, the more likely they will click. The more clicks you receive on the Ads in your pages, the more revenue you will generate for Google. And, the more targeted the click, the more revenue you will earn. Since Google shares click revenue with you, they are motivated to deliver the highest paying ads (Adwords customers compete for Ad placement). In order to deliver the highest paying ads, your web site must be optimized so that Google can determine the site's key concepts (what your site is about). To have your pages display Adsense ads, you simply copy and paste simple Javascript code into your pages where you want the ads to appear. |
